About

Welcome!

I’m Dr. Jana L. Webb, a board-certified pediatrician with 24 years of experience caring for children from birth to age 19. I have had the privilege of practicing pediatrics in Southern California, working with diverse populations and families from all walks of life.

Throughout my career, I have specialized in infectious diseases and adolescent obesity, but my passion extends to every stage of childhood—from newborns and toddlers to school-age kids and teenagers. I love watching my patients grow, helping parents navigate the challenges of each developmental phase, and working alongside families to promote lifelong health and well-being.

Pediatrics is more than just treating illnesses and injuries; it’s about teamwork. I believe that the best outcomes happen when parents are both loving and informed about their child’s health. That’s why I started this blog—to provide parents with practical, reliable, and easy-to-understand tips on child development, health, and wellness.

Over the years, I have learned countless valuable lessons from working with thousands of families. Whether it’s well-child visits, vaccinations, or managing common childhood illnesses, I aim to share insights that help parents feel confident and empowered in caring for their children.

I’m excited to take this journey with you and support you in raising happy, healthy kids who will ultimately become productive and healthy adults!

“One hundred years from now. It won’t matter
What kind of car I drove
What kind of house I lived in. How much money I had in the bank. Nor what my cloths looked like. BUT
The world may be a little better Because, I was important In the life of a child.”

― Forest Witcraft

My family has navigated every stage of childhood, from sleepless newborn nights to teenage eye rolls to the bittersweet independence of young adulthood. I am ready to share my personal experiences through this blog.

I am a pediatrician with 25 years of experience, but my path to medicine was unconventional. Before medical school, I spent five years as a Child Survival Specialist in Southern Africa, working in maternal-child health, nutrition, and vaccination programs. At 32, I took a leap of faith into medical school, completing my residency at 39. Along the way, I earned a Master’s in Public Health and a Master’s in Biblical and International Studies, driven by my passion for learning and caring for children.

Beyond medicine, motherhood has been my greatest joy and challenge. I have three amazing adult daughters and a bonus daughter from my husband, all of whom have shaped my understanding of parenting. I know firsthand that raising children is messy, humbling, and deeply rewarding. That’s why I created Peds and Parenthood with Dr. Mom—to share compassionate, evidence-based advice that empowers parents. My goal is to offer clarity, reassurance, and expert guidance, helping families navigate parenthood with confidence and joy instead of fear.
